Basic Purpose
Oversee and lead all aspects of the music program at Thomas More University. Function as the primary program coordinator/director for academic studies in music. Teach 3:3 course load with semester course release for Music program administration, curriculum development, undergraduate recruitment, and advancement initiatives through fundraising, grants procurement, and community partnerships.

Principal Activities
- Serve as primary faculty for the MUS 203 TMU Chamber Choir (SATB), MUS 103 MUS Women’s Chorus, and MUS 100 TMU Women’s Chamber Choir
- Serve as Music program head and collaborative/function within larger Department of Creative Media (DOCM) academic and curricular programs.
- Serve as full administrator for the financial, planning/vision, and organizational aspects of TMU Music program.
- Serve as primary supervisor for TMU Music program faculty and staff.
- Supervise part-time collaborative pianist/assistant director of choral activities
- Supervise part-time choral assistant (stipend position)
- Supervise and coordinate with all adjunct faculty for traditional academic courses and private applied lesson
- Supervision of applied adjunct faculty contracts/enrollment, schedule creation, studio space allocation, and annual fall/spring semester studio recitals.
- Recruitment of qualified studio and academic faculty for music program course offerings.
- Develop and implement music curriculum that fosters collegiate level musical competency amongst all students enrolled in TMU Choral Activities
- Oversee music curriculum development including hiring of additional faculty/staff and management of educational outcomes for TMU Music degree programs.
- Develop and champion academic studies in music at TMU including the development of a Major in Music, concentration in Bachelor of Education in Music Education, and Bachelor of Arts in Sacred Music degree.
- Create opportunities for local high school ensembles to join in TMU music program concerts and events.
- Establish strong partnerships and deliver consistent communications to promote a positive educational and administrative experience for the students and faculty.
- Organize an annual regional tour over Spring/Fall Break for TMU Music program
- Manage TMU Music Program Social Media/PR outlets
- Work closely with TMU Director of Communications and PR to promote a professional media strategy for TMU Music programs
- Work closely with TMU Director of Creative Services and Digital Communications Manager to promote professional materials, graphics, and digital communications/PR strategy for TMU Music programs
- Develop strong working relationships with local music community; form partnerships and forge collaborations with local arts organizations in the Cincinnati/NKY area
- Represent Thomas More University at local high schools and other venues conducive to recruiting students for TMU Music programs.
- Provide events both on campus and in the community to support professional development for local high school educators (ex. HS Honors Chorus Festivals, Education workshops for HS educators, community collaborations & grant writing for innovative community events/programs that position TMU in positive public spaces)
- Manage all aspects of the recruitment plan for potential academic music and curricular choral/instrumental ensemble students.
- Develop recruitment materials in collaboration with TMU Director of Creative Services, Director of Communications, and Director of Digital Communications to be used in the marketing of the program.
- Work in close partnership with Enrollment Management to develop a recruitment strategy and aid packaging for potential students.
- Develop strategic plan for growth of TMU Music programs to elevate standard of musical/academic excellence
- Manage expenses and budget related to TMU Choral Activities
- Serve on University and community committees as needed.

Master of Music (MM), Choral Conducting (preferred)
Master in Music Education (MME), Choral (preferred)
Preferred Education, Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge Requirements
Doctorate of Music Arts Degree, Choral Conducting (preferred)
PhD in Music Education
Equivalent professional experience
2-4 years experience collegiate teaching experience
