The History Department at Thomas More University invites applications for a non- tenure-track assistant professor whose primary focus is an area of Asia, Africa, or World History with appropriate minor fields starting August 2023.
Thomas More University is the Catholic Liberal Art University of the Diocese of Covington, Kentucky. Inspired by the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, we challenge students of all faiths to examine the ultimate meaning of life, their place in the world, and their responsibility to others.
The successful applicant will have 4/4 course load which may include teaching the introductory world history sequences, upper-level course in the area of specialty, and be an active participant in our First Year Experience. Applicants must demonstrate commitment to and excellence in undergraduate teaching as well as scholarly achievement while also supporting the mission of the institution and participating fully in the Thomas More Community.
A letter of application, CV, a teaching statement, writing sample (no longer than an article or dissertation/book chapter), and three letters of recommendation (sent separately) must be submitted via email to: hr@thomasmore.edu. Duties include undergraduate teaching and research, advising undergraduate students, service to Thomas More, and an active research agenda. Candidates preferably should have a Ph.D. in History or related discipline by August 1, 2023. Consideration will be given qualified ABD applicants.
