Thomas More University seeks an innovative leader, who will embrace, support and promote the Catholic mission and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, to serve as a full-time Dean of the College of Natural and Health Sciences with a start date of June 15, 2021, or as soon as possible thereafter.

The position presents the appointee with an opportunity to join two peer Deans and an academic leadership team in charting directions for growth as well as extended reach and reputation for the College and the University. The College of Natural and Health Sciences includes a School of Nursing with oversight by a Director who reports to the Dean.

Ensuring programmatic growth, extending the reach and reputation of the College, and working with the Office of Advancement to cultivate friends and donors are primary responsibilities for the Dean. Thomas More University encourages interdisciplinary, experiential, and study abroad/away learning and fosters cross-college collaboration among faculty in teaching, scholarship, and the development of programs.

Candidates are expected to work collaboratively with the Provost and others to develop and execute a shared vision that supports Thomas More’s strategic plan. Applicants must have the ability to work collegially and effectively with faculty, students, staff, academic leaders, administrative colleagues, alumni, and the community at large. The Deans are encouraged to include teaching a course each semester within their portfolio of duties.

The Dean reports to the Provost and is charged with the administration and leadership of departments in the College as well as its Chairs, faculty, and staff. The Dean is a member of the Provost’s Council.
