The Education Department at Thomas More University invites applications for a full time, renewable faculty position at the rank of Assistant Professor beginning August 2021. A terminal degree from a regionally accredited university is required. Responsibilities include teaching undergraduate and graduate courses, advising, contributing to reciprocal partnerships with schools and with University programs, participating in ongoing program development, and providing service to the department, college, university, professional associations, and community partners.
Successful candidates will have the following characteristics: a doctoral degree in education or closely related field (outstanding ABD candidates with a short timeline for completion will be considered); five years of experience teaching in K-12 settings; advanced training in elementary education and special education; ability to work well with colleagues and participate in collaborative programming; evidence of, or desire for, community engaged partnership experiences with schools; and evidence of a commitment to equity and social justice.
Preferred Qualifications include successful teaching experience in teacher preparation programs; evidence of incorporating technology in instructional practices; and experience in mentoring graduate students.
