Description

This position is part-time, 17 hours a week.

Basic Purpose:  To perform administrative and clerical support as needed in the College of Business in support of the dean and faculty in all programs within the College.

Principal Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs administrative tasks at the direction of the dean of the College
  • Researches grants and new program opportunities, while assisting in completing grant applications
  • Remains up-to-date on best digital marketing practices and applies them to the college/departments
  • Researches current trends among similar colleges/departments/programs
  • Writes and edits documents, marketing materials and newsletters
  • Creates spreadsheets and analyzes data as needed
  • Completes course inventory forms
  • Ensures completion of course credit hour analysis as needed
  • Manages department meeting schedules using the Outlook calendar and issues reminders as required
  • Attends College of Business meetings and other college events to take minutes/notes/photos
  • Orders office supplies
  • Keeps current on new technologies and their uses
  • Offers assistance with accreditation documentation
  • Compiles and generates reports needed for the functioning of the department and program and other academic initiatives
  • Provides general office/administrative and other services to Chairs of Business, IS, and Accounting as required, which may include but are not limited to:
    • Proofreading
    • Accreditation support
    • Expense and budget reports
  • Manages Master Calendar (schedule of courses) and communicates contract and overload information to the Provost office in a timely manner
  • Advises and assists the Dean in event planning and special projects as needed, including but not limited to:
    • Delta Mu Delta Induction Ceremony: prepares invitation letter, collects applications and dues, schedules meeting location, and orders and sets up refreshment
    • Donuts with the Dean: advertises event, orders donuts, sets up event and takes photographs
    • PRJ presentations: schedules location and food, notifies faculty of dates and sends reminder to attendees
    • Other department and College of Business events
  • Answers questions and provides general information to students and adjunct faculty
  • Monitors budget of the College and handles invoices, cost allocations, approval and distribution
  • Develops, maintains, and distributes master adjunct list by course and content coordinator
  • Ensures that graduation applications for all students are signed and processed
  • Handles all aspects of compiling, creating, printing and mailing for the Dean’s List
    • Trains and supervises work-study students in the Dean’s office
    • Compiles list of duties in writing
    • Summarizes work-study activities and submits to Dean as required
