Position:  Assistant Professor in Economics

               College of Arts and Sciences

               Department of Economics

 

The Department of Economics is seeking candidates for a full-time tenure-track assistant professorship starting in the Fall of 2020. The faculty member’s responsibilities will include teaching in both the Bachelor of Business Administration (BBA) and the Bachelor of Arts (BA) in Economics programs.  The position entails teaching principles of economics courses and may also include courses in investment analysis, money and banking, or applied econometrics. 

 

The Department and the College of Arts and Sciences have a strong commitment to the liberal arts and to quality teaching at both the undergraduate and the graduate (MBA) level.  Thomas More University, located in Crestview Hills, KY, in the Greater Cincinnati area, is a small, private, liberal arts Catholic University guided by the Catholic Intellectual Tradition. 

 

The minimum qualification is a Ph.D. in economics (although, candidates nearing completion of the PhD may be considered).  

 

The successful candidate will be expected to serve on College/University committees, remain active in scholarly pursuits, advise undergraduate Economics majors, and develop and evaluate research from the undergraduate and the graduate student population. 

 

Applicants should provide a curriculum vitae, unofficial graduate and undergraduate transcripts, a one-page statement of teaching philosophy, a one-page statement of research interests, a one-page statement on the value of the liberal arts and the Catholic Intellectual Tradition, and the names and contact information for three to five references.  An applicant may also provide evidence of scholarship and evidence of teaching proficiency (e.g. teaching evaluations).
