Assist Director of Choirs by serving as principal pianist/keyboardist at weekly rehearsals for all choir rehearsals (at least 3 choruses). The Assistant Director of Choirs serves as a support role for the Director of Choirs in artistic and administrative duties of the overall choral program at TMU.
Musical excellence/proficiency & pedagogical experience in teaching music at a collegiate level.
Able to work as part of a team and help plan/vision program goals.
Ability to dynamically connect to study body.
Principal Duties & Activities
Serve as principle accompanist for all choral events as assigned by Director of Choirs. Fill in/run rehearsals when Director of Choirs is not available due to recruiting duties. Assist in recruiting events both on and off campus. Help promote TMU Choral Activities to the surrounding through area by participating in community events.
Education, Specialized and/or Technical Knowledge Requirements
Master of Music or equivalent degree
Experience assisting and leading collegiate choral rehearsals
Ability to work as a team
Preferred requirements: DMA or progress towards terminal degree in music/education
