Dr. McLean received her Ph.D. and M.A. degrees from the University of Cincinnati, Cincinnati, OH., and her B.A. degree from the College of Mount Saint Joseph, Cincinnati, OH.

Dr. McLean is a Professor of Psychology and she received her doctorate in Physiological Psychology from the University of Cincinnati. Her research interests include behavioral neuroscience, resilience in first year and first generation college students, undergraduate internships, CUREs (Course-based Undergraduate Research Experiences) and research fellowships, and relationships between environmental toxicity and health. 
Dr. McLean has collaborated with over 150 student researchers on projects that have been presented at local, regional and national conferences, and she has supervised more than 100 internships in (as of July 2018) twenty locations throughout the Greater Cincinnati area.
