Additional Information

Joseph Taff is a versatile performer, educator, and scholar, whose background spans classical, popular, and folk styles. Joe currently serves as Director of Choral Activities as Thomas More University, where he directs the college’s two major choirs, teaches music courses, and oversees the music program, and as Director of Music at the Presbyterian Church of Wyoming (OH), where he leads both traditional and contemporary worship ensembles. Joe has conducted and sung with numerous collegiate, church, and community choirs, and has done extensive analytical and editorial work on the music of eighteenth-century Viennese composer Marianna von Martines. He is the recipient of the 2022 Julius Herford Dissertation Prize, for his document on Martines’s mass settings, and was the 2019-2020 May Festival Choral Conducting Fellow. Joe holds a DMA in choral conducting from the University of Cincinnati, MM in choral conducting from the Eastman School of Music, and a BA in music and history from Amherst College.
