Trumpet artist Stephen M. Wadsack is a rapidly emerging performer, music educator, arts administrator, and entrepreneur. His extensive career has taken him around the country, sharing the stage with world-renowned musicians across various musical styles and genres.
Stephen performs as a freelance trumpeter, soloist, chamber musician, and member of various large ensembles. He is a frequent guest musician with the Dayton Philharmonic Orchestra, Lexington Philharmonic Orchestra (KY), and Kentucky Symphony Orchestras, in addition to holding the position of Principal Trumpet in both the Queen City Chamber Orchestra and the Merit Theatre Company Orchestra. As a jazz/commercial musician, Stephen has performed with artists such as Randy Brecker, Dave Douglas, the Yellowjackets, and even the American rock band, KANSAS. He can also be seen and heard in the live band at Kings Island amusement park, which performs for over 3.5 million individual guests each year, from May through December.
Wadsack joined the instrumental music faculty at Thomas More University in the Fall of 2021 as the newly appointed adjunct professor of trumpet. In addition to teaching for TMU, he has served as trumpet professor, instrumental music instructor, lecturer, and director of athletic bands for Wilmington College since the Fall of 2018. Stephen’s private students include alumni of the Kentucky, Ohio, and Wyoming All-State Ensembles, the Cincinnati Symphony Youth Orchestras, and semi-finalist competitors in the National Trumpet Competition. To date, Wadsack has worked with over 20 university and high school programs across 16 different states as a guest artist, clinician, and soloist.
Outside of musical pursuits, Stephen loves connecting with friends, family, and current/former students in a variety of ways. He is very passionate about the outdoors, hiking, fly fishing, and loves traveling to new places (especially National Parks). At home, Stephen enjoys hosting board game nights, reading up on theology, all things coffee, and even brewing his own beer. He is also particularly proud of his Wyoming heritage (Go Pokes!).
Stephen is happily married to his wife and "adventure partner", Casey, where they reside together in Cincinnati, Ohio.
