Meenakshi Bansal is an Assistant Professor in the Chemistry Department at Thomas More College. She earned her undergraduate degree in Chemistry in 2001 and her Master’s degree in Physical Chemistry in 2003 from Honors School at Panjab University in India. After graduating she came to the US for higher education. She earned her doctoral dissertation in Chemistry with emphasis in Biochemistry from University of Louisville in Fall of 2009 entitled “Biophysical Characterization of a Self-Aminoacylating RNA and Its Mutants”. After completing her doctoral program, she worked as a post-doctoral associate in a Biochemistry lab at University of Louisville until the end of summer of 2010. Meenakshi then returned to her passion for teaching and joined St. Catharine College in Fall 2010 as an Adjunct Assistant Professor. She was later hired as a Full-time Assistant Professor in Spring 2011. She was the only Chemistry professor at St. Catharine and because of her diverse background in Chemistry she taught General Chemistry, Organic Chemistry and Biochemistry including labs. After teaching at St. Catharine for over five years she joined Thomas More College in Fall 2016.

Meenakshi lives in Louisville, Kentucky with her husband Aman and their two children Raunak (8) and Mahi (4). Her hobbies include, singing, listening to music, yoga, spending time with family and friends, and travelling.
