Course Description:

Basic principles, methods, curriculum trends and materials for teaching secondary eduaction to children in grades 8-12, EDU329 is an examination of contemporary trends and issues in secondary education. The focus includes historical, pedagogical, and research-based information as well as content appropriate for children ages 14-18. Topics are inclusive of, but not limited to, professional growth activities including content; secondary education processes, concepts and attitudes; inquiry; curriculum; interdisciplinary issues. The course is designed to build fundamental knowledge of secondary teaching and learning including standards-based curriculum design and research-based teaching strategies.
