4 Credit Hours
Pre-requisite: a minimum cumulative ACT score of 22 (or permission of instructor). Concurrent requisite: BIO 101L. Corequisite: CHE 111. General Biology I is the study of living organisms, primarily at the molecular and cellular level. The nature of molecules and macromolecules, cellular structure, metabolic processes of the cell, reproduction, and various aspects of molecular genetics will be discussed. Three hours of lecture and three hours of lab meet each week. This is the introductory biology course required of all majors and minors in the Department of Biological Sciences.
